My lower lip is protruding slightly as I sit here alone writing this post. Why? My wife is off to a trade show for the next two days. Am I a squall-bag (word invented by my kids)? Well…I hope not. I just miss her, especially with Valentine’s Day coming this weekend.
“Well, Joe” I say to myself, “just be happy that she is doing something she loves and make sure her homecoming Sunday night is special.”
I think I just talked myself into cleaning the house. Better get started.
Some great posts I have enjoyed this week:
If you are wondering just who is in control, check Rick Anderson’s guest post “Giving God Control” at Christian PF. Rick writes with great transparency and from the heart.
Disaster hit Haiti and it could hit here. Are you ready? Read “33 Essential Items For Your Bug Out Bag” on Frugal Dad. Yes, Duct Tape is on the list.
Do you have different data on different computers? You need to read “How to Keep Your Computer Files Safe and Sound“, a guest post by Paul from the Fiscal Geek at Good Financial Cents. I am looking forward to trying these tips.
I like numbers, so I like Craig Ford’s post “Important Mutual Fund Tax and Captial Gains Facts Every Investor Must Know“. Craig not only explains the nuances, he walks you through the math. I think I will bookmark this one.
Are you a do-it-yourselfer or do you hire outside help? Either way, you need to check out “Why You Probably Shouldn’t Hire Outside Help” at Fiscal Fizzle. Make sure you read all the comments!
The Bible doesn’t pull punches. A fool is a fool, and we can learn from biblical fools. In fact, 4 Money Lessons From a Fool, found at Redeeming Riches, may cause you to find a fool in your mirror.
Where to find my writing on other blogs
Check out How to Raise a Child For Less Than $266,698 posted at Christian PF, especially if you have children.
Carnivals I have participated in this week
