We live in a nice neighborhood that gets a lot of drive thur traffic. 2. We had time before we needed to sell our house. 3. We wanted more money in our pocket. Who doesn't, right? We had two offers that unfortunately fell through due to lack of financing. As our deadline approached (7 months had passed), we bit the bullet and hired a realtor. End result: we sold our house in under 3 weeks. Our realtor was awesome walking us through the process and he definitely earned his commission. While our realtor was excellent, I suspect there are plenty that aren't willing to work hard for you. I'd suggest interviewing a few before you sign a contract.
