Our daughter Jaime hosted the Grand Opening of her Monarch Art Studio on New Year’s Eve.
She was thrilled with a great turnout and I am happy for her. Jaime is a senior in Art Education. Our son Jeremy is a graduate artist employed as the store artist for Whole Foods, St Louis. Our son Josh manages “Attitude Designs”, a store which will design and manufacture T-shirts, business cards, vinyl signs, embroidery items, etc. Jonathan, our youngest, can look at a house and visualize how it would look after being renovated. He is therefore great at buying and fixing up houses. All four of these kids are obviously artistic. My wife is a painter, jewelry creator and seamstress, operating her Etsy store from home.
Me? Well, when our kids were young we played “the drawing game” in which someone would name something to draw, anything from “Ren and Stempy” to a giraffe to a cowboy riding a horse. There was much anticipation before I unveiled my drawing and much laughter afterward. For me, all animals I drew ended up looking sort of like dogs. The artistic bent, fortunately, was passed down from my wife to my kids.
Back to Jaime: Congratulations on your successful Monarch Studio Opening!

I’m afraid I’m not very artistic either! Congrats on having such a wonderful and talented family.
