Joe Shows Off His Envelopes on TV

by Joe Plemon on May 24, 2011

I was invited to be the $mart Money guest yesterday on our local Southern Illinois TV station, so I brought my envelopes along as props.

Be careful Joe, they might just give you a full 30 min show one of these days 🙂

Great job! Glad to see you getting the message out like that!

@Miss T,

A full 30 minutes? Hmmm. Might be fun. I keep thinking FOX is going to offer me a spot, but nothing yet. … just joking, of course … 🙂

Nice! I remember you posting a similar video before. Are you a regular on the program?

I really like this video and the other one you did. It would be cool to see you do a series on Youtube.

I am impressed that you remembered, but that might not be a good thing. 🙂
I am a sort of regular on the show. They invite various “money experts” to be on the weekly segment. I get invited about once every 6 or 7 weeks. I drive 45 minutes one way to be on a 4 minute segment. Sort of a hassle, but still kind of fun.

Thanks! And that is a great idea. The trouble is that I don’t own the video clips, so I can’t upload them onto YouTube. But I could ask the TV station for copies of the video segment. Hmmm. Maybe I had better get busy asking.

For that “hassle”, are you allowed to talk advertise your blog or coaching business a little?

Seems like it’d be a great opportunity for you!

You may have noticed that the news team mentioned “Plemon Financial Coaching” a couple of times and also referred people to my business web site (not my blog). Before I come on they have all of that on the screen, and they also promote me during the week before my visit. This being said, my blog is never mentioned. Next time I will ask them to share that info. But they do not allow me to use the interview time to promote my business or my blog.

All in all, I think it is time well spent. Being on live TV when you only have about 4 minutes is a bit nerve wracking because I am fully aware that I could get myself in trouble if I don’t stay exactly on task. Still, it is fun and I wouldn’t do it if I wasn’t having fun.

Hey Joe,
That is awesome. I would be nervous as all get out if I had to explain something on TV. On the phone with a client is second nature, but TV is a whole new level. Awesome job.

It has been a long time since I have been to your blog, it looks like it is really going well. I remember your site was pretty much starting out at the same time I was getting my blog going. You have been much more consistent with your posts then I was able to be and it really shows in your stats.
