The title is “transparent”
“The wood that the image is painted on represents my students’ creativity…. the tracing paper, layered but still transparent, represents the lessons I will give to my students. They have the instruction which will allow their creativity to show through. The bird cage is representational of the standards society want to place on our children but I left the door off because I want them to have freedom to be who they are, to never feel trapped. The bird is my students…the hand is mine, giving them what they need. (the branch is instruction, nourishment, encouragement). The snowflakes, which no two are alike, represent my students as well.”
Jaime’s dreams are to unleash the creativity, individuality and dreams of her students. I think she is going to be a great teacher. Don’t you?
Posts I have enjoyed this week:
- Parents…all parents! This is a must read. How far should you go in helping your children? Neal from WealthPilgrim.com presents this sobering true story “67 and Bankrupt: Are the Kids to Blame?” as a guest post for Frugal Dad. A guarantee to make all parents consider the difference between a hand up and a hand out.
- Did you ever wonder what happens if you don’t file your tax return? Would you be penalized more by not filing or not paying? Can you ever settle with the IRS? This post, “Unfiled Tax Returns, What Happens if You Don’t File a Tax Return?” at Moolanomy answers your questions in a clear, easy to understand language.
- The Bible, God’s word to us, says much about business. Sort of makes you think that God is interested in how we conduct ourselves in the world of business, doesn’t it? Check out ”24 Scriptures About Business” at Christian PF for a great list.
- Are you on track for your retirement? How do you know? Read “Why You’re Off Track for Your Retirement…and What to do About It” at Redeeming Riches. Jason gives not only five reasons people get off track, but some very practical hints on how to get back on.
- Yes, this year is drawing to a close. Read “Year-end Financial Moves for 2009″ at Good Financial Cents for some great ideas that you may not have considered. He also has an excellent guest post that asks if Term Life Insurance is the best.
