I never liked the school for the reasons you mentioned. I didnt liked the fact that teachers tried to force THEIR personal point of view into me.
When i tried to talk with them they where getting mad at me. They thought i am rude!
Education is important but i believe that we can learn much more by personally choosing what we like to learn. We can choose to learn something that will help us with our journey to wealth .
Said that, certain people don't like to conquest the world and for them a degree will definitely be helpful.

Great article - I completely agree that people have began to worship a degree to a level that if you don't have one - or if you didn't go to the right ivy league school, that you aren't going to succeed. some of the smartest people I know aren't college graduates and have done extremely well.

That said I still believe education is important - although I think a lot of people would be better served by going to a trade school, schools with in state tuition, etc. Why saddle yourself with 40-70k in debt right off the bat if you don't have to?
